Collected Embroidery Works 2022

Collected Embroidery Works - 2022
A collection of the pieces that I have embroidered so far in 2022. These pieces will be available for sale in the coming months. I sell art pieces under my craft business name Ink by Moonlight. All patterns were created using original sketches. All captions are written by me unless otherwise noted. Photographs and editing by me.
"Searching for some bit of truth and a star to guide you...keep your feet moving, wanderer. Be wary of the flickering and misleading light in the dark when you ache for warmth or a knife in the back when you stop for rest. The way is forward. Always forward." - Metallic DMC embroidery thread and standard cotton DMC floss on linen in a 6" round oak hoop.
"Pale flesh glowing in the moonlight, seen only by the smallest creatures shuffling about the garden at night, the tiny white pumpkin was perfect." - The Tiniest Pumpkin - Stitched on black linen with a cotton backing using DMC Light Effects metallic thread and DMC standard cotton flosses. Hand beaded with iridescent glass seed beads. Framed in a 4" round oak hoop.
"Meet me in the garden under the shadow of night..." - Spring - Hand stitched on linen with a cotton backing using DMC Light Effects metallic thread and DMC standard cotton flosses. Framed in a 6" round hoop.
"Come in and sit a moment, my darling. Tell me of your troubles then have a sip of mushroom tea. Take your rest in the shadows of my forgotten garden and let the moonlight be the last thing you will ever see." - Stumpwork is a type of embroidery that was popular in England during the very late 1600s and early 1700s. It creates a raised effect so that the stitched object, in this case, the ghost is three-dimensional and stands up from the face of the material. Stitched on linen using metallic DMC embroidery thread as well as standard DMC cotton floss. Hand beaded with iridescent glass seed beads. Encased in a 4" x 6" oval oak hoop.
